Welcome! You
are at the opening page to the Southern Regional Conference
(SRC) of the Blue Knights®
International Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club, Inc. The SRC
was organized for the purpose of promoting the
Blue Knights®
International, Inc.,
Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club, and for fostering closer
co-operation and support among the Chapters within the
Geographical Conference area.
The Blue Knights®
were founded in the Spring of
1974 by several law enforcement officers* from the Bangor, Maine
(USA) area who met and formed a small, local motorcycle club. The Blue Knight Founding Fathers are: Joel Rudom,
Bill Robinson, Doug Miner, Ed Gallant, Mike Hall, Chuck Gesner,
Wayne Labree, Chuck Shuman.
Soon, Blue Knight chapters were being formed in Massachusetts,
New Hampshire, and beyond. With the addition of Canada, and
later Australia, the Blue Knights became an international
organization. The rest, as they say, is history.
As of
May, 2008, besides the USA, we currently have Chapters in
Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Croatia, Denmark (not yet
renewed), England, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy,
Luxemburg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Puerto Rico, Romania,
Scotland, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, United States of
America and Wales. We also have Members living in Iceland,
Japan, New Zealand, Singapore and the British Channel Islands.
That includes
594 chapters with a total of
18,494 members.
We
have received a preliminary inquiry about
forming a Chapter in
Spain.
In the SRC there are six states,
two island nations,
and one
protectorate: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi,
South Carolina, Puerto Rico, and Bermuda and the Bahamas. The SRC has 2,280 members in 77 chapters. Take
a look at our area maps section for
locations of Chapters.
Blue Knights®
have donated to 100's of Local, Regional, and National charities, contributing time, goods,
and money. Since these figures were started to be
recorded, the Blue Knights have been responsible for donating
over 178,831
hours of volunteer time, $592,935.49 of goods and $5,865,257.07(USD)
in cash for a Total to Charitable causes in excess of $10,034,812.56!
We welcome all those
who visit and
browse our site! We are proud of all our Chapters and the
Blue
Knights®,
